Established History

To promote understanding and studying about Taiwan’s Indigenous, to combine and manage their precious materials, Council of Indigenous Peoples, a government department in Taiwan, authorizes National Taiwan University Library to set up the center in 2005. In July 2006, Taiwan’s Indigenous Peoples Resource Center was formally established.

The center’s ongoing mission is to collect and organize information related to Taiwan’s indigenous peoples to help preserve their cultures. Through the proper management of these resources, the center wants to reinforce public awareness of indigenous history, industrial economy, geographical areas, and provide a knowledge framework within which indigenous peoples can place their own experiences.
